REFLECTION
Experience
This module has been a truly eye-opening experience that has shaped me both personally and creatively. One of the biggest hurdles I faced, especially during the third task, was trying to balance my mental health with staying creative. On top of that, I was juggling the stress of searching for an internship for the next semester, which often left me feeling drained and stretched way too thin. It wasn’t easy, but looking back, this module became a real turning point for me. It didn’t just teach me how to build a campaign step by step; it also gave me valuable lessons on managing my work alongside life’s ups and downs. I learnt to approach my responsibilities with more resilience, patience, and structure—skills I didn’t know I needed but now truly appreciate. It helped me see the importance of pacing myself, staying grounded, and trusting the process. These lessons have stuck with me and will no doubt play a huge role in my growth, both as a creative and as an individual.
Observations
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve taken away from this module is learning how to observe and analyse with purpose and intention. During moments when I felt creatively stuck or unsure of how to improve my work, I turned to references for guidance and inspiration. I spent a significant amount of time exploring a wide variety of designs, but I soon realised that the most meaningful progress happened when I focused on campaigns that truly resonated with me—like the Chobani campaign, which stood out for its simplicity and impact. By breaking down what made those designs so effective, whether it was their unique visual style, clear messaging, or creative execution, I was able to pinpoint qualities that I could adapt and integrate into my own work. This process pushed me to step outside of my comfort zone and embrace experimentation with more confidence.
Findings
This module has really helped me see the process of building a campaign in a new light—it’s so different from developing a brand, which I worked on last semester. Back then, I often held back when it came to experimenting with styles because I wasn’t entirely confident in my abilities. This semester, though, something shifted. I felt more open to exploring new ideas and taking creative risks, and studying successful campaigns played a big part in that change. Seeing how others approached their work gave me a clearer understanding of the process and allowed me to focus more effectively. I’ve also developed a more thoughtful, methodical approach to my work—one that boosts my productivity and helps me handle challenges with a much clearer, calmer mindset. I’m confident that this way of working will stick with me as I continue to grow as both a designer and a professional.
