REFLECTION

It's the end of the semester! It feels like just yesterday I had my first DRD lesson, and now we're almost done with this module. Although this module was challenging, it has significantly improved my writing and critical thinking skills. When I first started this degree, I never thought I would learn how to do research and write my own dissertation. Thanks to Dr. Jinchi's guidance, I learned to write clearly and gained a lot of insight into my research and writing style.

For Task 1, we were assigned to write on the dissertation draft, which consisted of acknowledgement, abstract, introduction, literature review, research methods, results, discussion, and conclusion. I was mostly struggling at the findings and discussion section, but Dr. Jinchi suggested us to create a matrix in order to organize the answers from our respondents. This method helped me immensely, and without it, I think I would have been lost and overwhelmed. Planning everything out also helped me find better information and made my work more coherent.

Once I finished editing my dissertation, we had continued with task 2 which is to design an E-Book. I felt pressured because I had no idea how to make it look interesting without distracting from the content. I applied what I learned from Publishing Design to this task. However, I struggled with designing the ebook cover. My initial ideas were rejected by the lecturer, which left me feeling demotivated and stressed, especially with the heavy workload and deadlines for other modules. Despite this, I managed to complete it. For task 3, it was fairly manageable as it involved editing based on the lecturer's feedback and submitting it to Turnitin, where I received an 7% similarity score, which was acceptable. However the bad news is that I got flagged with 41% AI percentage (which left me pretty traumatized and distressed). Thankfully, Dr. Jinchi gave me a second chance to improve my writing as well as to reduce the AI percentage. Finally, task 4 was pretty manageable since we just had to polish existing content to fit the required word count for the Kreate article.

Overall, I really enjoyed this module. Whenever I felt stuck with my other courses, I turned to this one because it was factual and challenged my thinking. It also helped me improve my language skills, which I can't be upset about that. Most importantly, I want to thank Dr. Jinchi for guiding me through this semester. She was incredibly patient, especially during early morning sessions when I was the most confused. Without her help, my dissertation would not have been as good as it is. Thankyouu!
