REFLECTION
Experience
Overall, I would say this class has been a really good experience. The creative freedom we were given with the book tasks allowed me to revisit and apply the knowledge I gained during the Typography modules in Semester 01 and 02. Initially, I felt a bit lost at the start of the semester because the holiday break made me forget much of what I had learned. However, this module gave me the opportunity to step back, recall my previous learning, and create work that I am proud of. Additionally, the support I received, especially from Mr. Hijjaz, has been a great help for this module. He answered my questions and helped me overcome creative blocks, making the process smoother and more enjoyable.

Observation
I believe that the best way to learn how to create interesting layouts is through observation. Before this semester, I had no idea what Publishing Design would involve. I expected it to be about standard book or newspaper design, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover it's much more than that. There are endless possibilities within the given dimensions. Initially, I struggled with trying to create more edgy designs since I had always been playing it safe and create something around my comfort zone. However, after looking through Pinterest and Behance, I learned to step out of my comfort zone, which was a necessary and valuable lesson.

Findings
During this module, I discovered the various ways layouts can be created. Even with a simple grid system, the possibilities are endless. Initially, I was skeptical about how to continuously vary the styles I committed to, but Mr. Hijjaz's Form & Movement exercise was incredibly helpful whenever I felt stuck. This exercise was especially useful while I was working on the Brand Guideline, as my layout heavily relied on using columns to make the most of the available space.
